Make out is a "phrasal verb", and when used as an intransitive verb, it means "to do" "to succeed", for example:
He made out well on examination.

Make out 為「片語動詞」,當作不及物動詞時,意思為「表現」,例如:
他這次考試考得很好。

When used as a transitive verb, it means "to understand", for example:
I just can't make out what he said.
當作及物動詞時,意思為「了解」,例如:
我真不懂他到底在說什麼?
