從屬子句依其詞類，可分為名詞子句、副詞子句，以及形容詞子句(又稱關係子句)

When I saw the ghostly figure, I was terrified.

(表時間的副詞子句)

(表條件的副詞子句)

(作為受詞的名詞子句)

What the man did, was not polite.

(作為主詞的名詞子句)

I know the man who is sitting next to my father.

(形容詞子句，又稱關係子句)
