Very obvious and easy to understand
Eg: When the teacher explained the theory everything was as clear as day.
If a fact, situation, or statement is plain, it is easy to recognize or understand.
Plain as day. This is something that's obvious to see. It's plain as day that she loves you. Why don't you ask her on a date?
So what do we have for today?
Well, today's idiom is
plain as day.
What do you mean plain as day?
I understand plain, like my shirt is kind of plain
and I understand day.
What does that mean? Well, it means very clear.
For example,
if I'm doing homework.
And I can't find the answer to page #6
or can't find the answer for item number 6.
And I send an e-mail to my teacher,
and my teacher says
you can find the answer on page 11.
So I look at page 11 and I can't find it.
And then the next day I said
I couldn't find the answer to the question on page 11.
And the teacher might say
there it is and point at it
and say it's as plain as day right here, very clear.
And then I will feel embarrassed.
Gary Lineker says the bleeding obvious that this kind of language is reminiscent of 1930s Germany and people lose their shit, people lose their minds. It's just plain as day that we are on a path towards authoritarianism fashion across the Western world. That part far right parties are exploiting issues like immigration, diversity, changing demographics to do that. Where is the counter narrative? Where is the concerted? It's a global, by the way trend. Where is the global democratic trend in response? You know, Joe Biden talks a good game about democracy versus authoritarianism.
Where is it? Where is that on, you know, putting aside our left wing, right wing differences and having a common struggle for small D democracy? I don't see it. It petrifies me. I was a guy in 2019 saying next year Trump's going to lose, but he won't accept defeat and he won't leave. And people said, Ohh silly Brit, you're being hyperbolic. Secret Service will walk him out of the building. And then January 6 happened, said, oh hold on, he didn't leave and he did incite an armed insurrection. 2024 is going to make 2020 like a walk in the park if Trump's the candidate and he loses.
lose my shit (phr.)
I am very close to losing my shit, so you better watch out.

【Quote -
“I might show facts as plain as day: but, since your eyes are blind, you’d say, ‘Where? What?’ and turn away.”
This quote by Christina Rossetti is a metaphor for how people can be blind to the truth. It is saying that even if the facts are presented in a clear and obvious way, people can still choose to ignore them. It is a reminder that people can be willfully ignorant and choose to ignore the truth, even when it is presented to them. It is a warning that people can be so entrenched in their own beliefs that they will not accept any evidence that contradicts them. This quote is a reminder that people can be so stubborn and close-minded that they will not accept the truth, even when it is presented to them in a clear and obvious way. It is a reminder to be open-minded and to be willing to accept the truth, even if it is not what we want to hear.
