once in a while 

'Once in a while' is an adverb of frequency, meaning ' occasionally ', which can be used at the beginning or end of a sentence, and has the same meaning as ' every now and then '.

'Once in a while' 是個頻率副詞,表 "偶爾" ,可以放在句首或句尾使用,其意思與 'every now and then' 相同。

for examples

Every now and then we're allowed to have a school dancing party.
Once in a while we're allowed to have a school dancing party.
我們偶爾可以在學校內辦舞會。

Previously I saw him very often but now he comes here only once in a while.
以前我常看到他,但現在他只是偶爾來一次。

Once in a while he goes to the movies with us.
偶爾他會和我們一起去看電影。

quite a few 

' Quite a few ' is formed by adding ' quite ' before ' a few '.
' Quite a few ' 是 ' a few ' 之前加上 ' quite ' 變化而成的。

' a few ' meaning ' some ', ' quite a few ' meaning ' many '.
'a few' 的意思是 "一些",'quite a few' 的意思是 "不少"。

'a few' and ' quite a few ' are followed by "plural countable nouns".
'a few' 和 ' quite a few ',後面都要加 "複數可數名詞"。

Quite a few students were absent yesterday.
昨天有不少學生缺席。

We didn't expect many to attend, but quite a few people came to the meeting.
我們並沒有期盼會有很多人出席,可是到會的人卻不少。
