看情況。我的同事班很愛說話,有時會議就會拖得很久。
But he is funny, so it is okay. But he is funny, so it is okay. Yes, it is okay.
不過他很有趣,所以沒關係。沒錯,沒關係。

You are all of those things, Emma. Thank you, Jack. That is very kind.
艾瑪,你具備所有這些特質。謝謝你,傑克。你太客氣了。
Did you always want to be a graphic designer? No, not always. When I was a child, I wanted to be a pilot. A pilot? To fly airplanes? Yes, I wanted to see the world.
你一直想當平面設計師嗎?不,並非如此。小時候我想當飛行員。飛行員?開飛機?對,我想看遍世界。

I played school with my toys. My toys were my students. That is so cute.
我常拿玩具玩過家家,把玩具當學生。真可愛。
Your toys learned a lot, I am sure. I think they did. If you weren't a graphic designer, what job would you like to try? That is a difficult question.
你的玩具一定學到很多東西。我想是這樣的。如果不是平面設計師,你想嘗試什麼工作?這問題真難回答。
Maybe a chef. I like to cook. Really? I didn't know that.
也許當廚師。我喜歡烹飪。真的嗎?我不知道這件事。
Yes, it helps me relax. What about you? If you weren't a teacher? Maybe a tour guide. I like to meet new people and talk about my city.

你會是個很棒的導遊。你非常友善。謝謝。
Maybe we can have a second job one day. Maybe a coffee shop for chefs and tour guides. With a logo made by you.
也許哪天我們能開個副業。開間專為廚師和導遊設計的咖啡館。用你設計的標誌。
Of course. A smiling coffee cup. Perfect.
當然。笑臉咖啡杯。完美。
Well, Jack, I think we talked a lot about our jobs. We really did. I feel like I know your classroom now.
傑克,我們聊了好多關於工作的話題呢。確實聊了不少。現在感覺我了解你的教室了。
And I feel like I know your co-worker Ben and your cat Buster. They are both important parts of my job. That sounds like a plan.
而我好像也認識你的同事班和貓咪巴斯特了。他們都是我工作的重要部分。聽起來是個好計畫。
You know, we used some good words about jobs today. Should we explain them for our learners? That is a great idea. Let's do a mini vocabulary review.
你知道嗎,今天我們用了不少關於工作的精采詞彙。要不要為學習者解說這些詞?好主意,來個迷你詞彙複習吧。
It's like a small English lesson inside our conversation. Exactly. We can talk about the words we used and explain them simply.
就像在對話中嵌入迷你英語課。沒錯,我們可以談談用過的詞彙,用簡單方式解釋它們。
Perfect. What words should we explain first? Let's start with client. You said this word many times.
完美。我們該先解釋哪些詞彙?就從客戶開始吧。你多次提到這個詞。
Yes, a client. A client is a person or company that pays you for your work or your service. So, for you, a company is your client.
是的,客戶。客戶是指為你的工作或服務付費的個人或公司。所以對你而言,公司就是你的客戶。
They pay you to make a logo. Yes, exactly. For example, the Happy Bean coffee shop is my client.
他們付錢請你設計商標。沒錯。例如快樂豆咖啡店就是我的客戶。
And for a hairdresser, the person who gets a haircut is the client. That's right. A client is like a customer, but often for professional work.
而對髮型師來說,來剪頭髮的人就是客戶。沒錯。客戶類似顧客,但通常指專業服務的對象。
Okay, next word. Rewarding. I said my job is rewarding.
好的,下個詞彙。有成就感。我說過我的工作很有成就感。
Yes, what does rewarding mean again? I remember it was a good feeling. It is a very good feeling. If something is rewarding, it makes you feel happy and satisfied.
對,有成就感是什麼意思?我記得是種愉悅的感覺。確實是種極佳的感受。當某件事帶來成就感時,會讓你感到快樂與滿足。
It makes you feel that your work is good and important. So, helping people is often rewarding. Yes, teaching is rewarding for me because I help children learn.
讓你覺得自己的工作有價值且重要。所以幫助他人通常很有成就感。是的,教學對我很有成就感,因為我幫助孩子學習。
And for me, finishing a beautiful logo is rewarding. It feels great. It's a feeling inside your heart that you did something good.
對我而言,完成一個精美的標誌也很有成就感。那種感覺很棒,是發自內心覺得自己做了件好事。
I like that word. Okay, my turn. Let's explain coworker.
我喜歡這個詞。好,輪到我了。來解釋「同事」這個詞吧。
A coworker is a person who works with you. We have the same boss and we work in the same place or for the same company. That's right.
同事是指和你一起工作的人。我們有同一位老闆,在同一個地方或同一家公司工作。沒錯。
You and I are coworkers on this channel. And Ben and Sarah are your coworkers at your graphic design job. Yes, another word for coworker is colleague.
你和我就是這個頻道的同事。而班和莎拉是你平面設計工作中的同事。是的,「同事」的另一種說法是「工作夥伴」。
But coworker is more common, I think. I think so, too. It's a very useful word for an office.
Okay, your turn again. Okay, your turn again. Let's explain convenient.
但我覺得「同事」更常用。我也這麼認為。這詞在辦公室環境特別實用。
好,輪到你了。好,輪到你了。來解釋「方便」這個詞。
I said my school is convenient because it's near my house. Yes, if something is convenient, it is easy and it saves you time or trouble. A short walk to work is convenient.
我說學校方便是因為離家近。沒錯,若某事物方便,代表它省時省力。步行上班很方便。
An online supermarket is convenient because you can shop from your home. A smartphone is convenient because you can do many things with one small device. It's the opposite of difficult or complicated.
線上超市很方便,因為你可以在家購物。智慧型手機很方便,因為一台小裝置就能完成許多事情。它與困難或複雜相反。
Yes. Now, let's think of some new words from our talk. What about skills? We talked about skills for our jobs.
沒錯。現在,讓我們從對話中延伸出新詞彙。技能怎麼樣?我們討論過工作所需的技能。
Oh, good one. Skills. A skill is something you can do well, something you learned.
哦,說得好。技能。技能是指你擅長做的事,是你學會的東西。
For example, drawing is a skill. You are good at drawing. And speaking English is a skill.
例如,繪畫是種技能。你擅長畫畫。說英語也是種技能。
Our viewers are practicing that skill right now. Exactly. Cooking is a skill.
我們的觀眾此刻正在練習這項技能。沒錯。烹飪是種技能。
Using a computer is a skill. So, everyone has many skills. They do.
使用電腦是種技能。所以每個人都有許多技能。確實如此。
Another word is routine. I said we have a routine in my class. Routine.
另一個詞是例行公事。我說過我們班上有例行公事。例行公事。
What is a routine? A routine is the usual normal way you do things. The order of activities that you do regularly. So, my morning routine is wake up, drink coffee, check my emails.
什麼是例行公事?例行公事就是你處理事情的慣常方式,是你定期進行的活動順序。比如我的晨間例行公事是起床、喝咖啡、查郵件。
And my class routine is sing a song, learn new words, play a game. So, a routine is like a plan or a habit for your day or your week. Yes, it helps you know what will happen next.
而我的課堂例行公事是唱首歌、學新單字、玩遊戲。所以例行公事就像是每日或每週的計劃或習慣。沒錯,它能讓你知道接下來會發生什麼。
Children like routines. I like routines too. They are comfortable.
孩子喜歡例行公事。我也喜歡。它們讓人感到安心。
Me too. Okay, one more word. How about project? Project.
我也是。好,再來一個詞彙。專案怎麼說?專案。
I use that word all the time. A project is a specific piece of work. It has a beginning and an end.
我經常用這個詞。專案是特定的工作項目,有明確的起點與終點。
So, making one logo is a project. Yes, I'm working on a new project for a coffee shop. Building a house is a big project.
設計一個商標就是專案。沒錯,我正在為咖啡店執行新專案。蓋房子則是大型專案。
Planning a holiday can be a fun project. That's true. So, a project is like a task, but often bigger and more complex.
規劃假期也能成為有趣的專案。沒錯。所以專案類似任務,但通常規模更大、更複雜。
Yes, I have many projects at one time. And I prepare my teaching projects, my lessons, every week. So, we both have projects. We do.
是的,我同時進行許多專案。每週我都會準備教學計畫和課程內容。所以我們都有專案要處理。確實如此。
Let's do one last word. Responsibility.
最後來談個詞彙:責任。
Oh, that's a long word. Responsibility. It is long, but it's important.
哦,這是個長詞。責任。雖然長,但很重要。
A responsibility is something you have to do. It is your job or your duty. So, my responsibility is to finish my projects on time.
責任就是你必須完成的事,是你的工作或義務。所以我的責任是按時完成專案。
And my responsibility is to take care of my students and help them learn. A parent has the responsibility to feed their children. A driver has the responsibility to drive carefully.
而我的責任是照顧學生並協助他們學習。父母有責任餵養子女,駕駛者有責任謹慎駕駛。
So, it's a serious word. It means you need to do something important. Yes, it's about trust and doing the right thing.
這是個嚴肅的詞彙,意味著你必須完成重要任務。沒錯,它關乎信任與正確行事。
Okay, let's quickly repeat them all. We had client, rewarding, co-worker, convenient, skills, routine, project, and responsibility. That's eight words.
好,現在快速複習所有單字:客戶、回報、同事、便利、技能、例行、專案、責任。共八個詞彙。
I think that was a very good review. I hope it was helpful for everyone. Remember, you don't need to learn all these words today.
這次複習效果很好,希望對各位有所幫助。請記住,今天不必全部記住這些單字。
No, just listen and try to remember one or two new words. That is a great start. Learning English is a project, and you are all doing a very good job.
不,只要聽著並試著記住一兩個新單字就好。這已經是很好的開始了。學習英語是一項計畫,你們都做得非常出色。
We think that is very rewarding. It really is. Yes, I have many projects at one time.
我們認為這非常有價值。確實如此。是的,我同時進行許多計畫。
And I prepare my teaching projects, my lessons, every week. So, we both have projects. We do.
每週我都會準備教學計畫和課程內容。所以我們倆都有計畫要執行。確實如此。

Let's do one last word. Responsibility. Oh, that's a long word.
Responsibility. It is long, but it's important. A responsibility is something you have to do.
It is your job or your duty. So, my responsibility is to finish my projects on time. And my responsibility is to take care of my students and help them learn.
A parent has the responsibility to feed their children. A driver has the responsibility to drive carefully. So, it's a serious word.

It really is.
****************************************************
Well, Jack, I think we talked a lot about our jobs today. We really did.
傑克,今天我們確實聊了很多關於工作的話題。真的聊了不少。
I feel like I know your classroom and your students now. And I feel like I know your co-worker, Ben, your boss, Sarah, and your cat, Buster, very well. They are all important parts of my work life, even Buster.
現在我彷彿已經熟悉你的教室和學生們。連你的同事班、老闆莎拉,還有你的貓咪巴斯特,我都覺得認識得很透徹。他們都是我職場生活中不可或缺的一部分,連巴斯特也不例外。
So, let's think about what we practiced today. For all of you watching, we talked about many things related to jobs. Yes, we started with the simple question, what do you do? That's the most common way to ask about someone's job.
那麼,讓我們回顧今日的練習內容。各位觀眾,我們探討了許多與職業相關的主題。沒錯,我們從最基礎的問題開始——「你從事什麼工作?」這正是詢問他人職業最常見的方式。
What do you do, or what is your job? And we answered with, I am a teacher, and I am a graphic designer. Then, we talked about what we do in our jobs. I teach children, and you make logos on the computer.
「你從事什麼工作?」或「你的職業是什麼?」我們回答:「我是教師」、「我是平面設計師」。接著我們說明工作內容:「我教導孩童」、「你在電腦上設計商標」。
We also described where we work. You work in a school, and I work from home. That's right.
我們也描述工作場所:「你在學校工作」、「我在家工作」。沒錯。
We used the phrase, I work from home. That's a very useful phrase these days. We talked about our co-workers and our bosses.
我們用了「我在家工作」這個說法。這在當今社會是個相當實用的表達。我們談論了同事和上司。
Remember, a co-worker is a person you work with. And, we discussed our daily schedules. What time we start work, and what time we finish.
請記住,同事是指與你共事的人。此外,我們也討論了每日行程安排——何時開始工作、何時結束。
I start at 9, and you start at 8.30. You finish much earlier than me. I finish at 3.30, but sometimes I prepare lessons on the weekend. And, we talked about the good parts and the difficult parts of our jobs.
我九點開始工作,你八點半開始。你下班時間比我早得多。我三點半下班,但有時週末會準備課程。我們還談到工作的優點與困難之處。
The good parts are rewarding. The difficult parts can be tiring. But, that's normal for every job.
優點在於工作有成就感,困難之處則可能令人疲憊。不過每份工作都有這些常態。
We also learned some new vocabulary words together, like client, routine, and skills. I hope listening to our conversation was good practice for you. You can listen to it again to practice your listening.
我們還共同學習了新詞彙,例如客戶、例行程序和技能。希望聆聽我們的對話能成為你的練習素材,歡迎反覆收聽強化聽力。
And, you can try to shadow us. That means you speak at the same time as us. It's great for pronunciation.
你也可以嘗試跟讀練習——即同步跟隨我們的發音,這對提升發音準確度極有幫助。
Now, it's your turn to talk. We have a question for you. Our question of the day.
現在輪到你開口了!我們準備了今日提問環節。
Yes, we always love to hear from you in the comments. It's great practice for your writing, too. Today's question is, what is your job? Or, what is your dream job? Yes, please tell us.
沒錯,我們總是樂於在留言區聽到你的聲音。這同時也是寫作練習的好機會。今日問題是:你的職業是什麼?或是你的夢想職業是什麼?請務必告訴我們。
You can write a short sentence. For example, I am a student. That's a very important job.
你可以寫一句簡短的句子。例如:「我是學生。」這可是份非常重要的工作呢。
Or, I am a doctor. Or, I am a cook. If you don't have a job now, you can tell us your dream job.
或者,我是醫生。或者,我是廚師。若你目前沒有工作,可以告訴我們你的夢想職業。
What job do you want in the future? For example, my dream job is to be a pilot. Or, I want to be a musician. You can use our sentence.
你將來想從事什麼工作?例如,我的夢想職業是成為飛行員。或者,我想成為音樂家。你可以使用我們的句子。
I am a. Or, I want to be a. We will read every comment. We are always so happy to read your answers and learn more about you. It helps us make better videos for you.
我是。或者,我想成為。我們會閱讀每則留言。閱讀大家的回答並更了解你們,總是讓我們感到非常開心。這有助於我們為你們製作更好的影片。

學習新語言雖非易事,但你們堅持在此努力,這份堅持令人讚嘆。請記得善待自己。
It's okay to make mistakes. Mistakes help us learn. Keep learning, keep practicing, and we will see you again next time.
犯錯是無妨的。錯誤能幫助我們學習。持續學習,持續練習,下次見。
Goodbye, everyone. Have a great day.
各位再會。祝大家有個美好的一天。

《English Talk》《英語會話》

Daily English Talk. Hi, everyone. We're so happy you're here.

I'm Emma. And I'm Jack. On this channel, we help you practice real, everyday English.

Please, if you like our videos, help us out. Click the subscribe button and like this video. Yes, thank you.

Today, we are going to talk about a very common topic. That's right. We're going to talk about our jobs.

Let's get started. So, Emma, how are you today? I'm great, Jack. And you? How are you feeling? I'm a little tired, but I'm okay.

Tired? Why are you tired? I woke up early today. Very early. The sun was not up.

Oh, no. Why did you wake up so early? My cat wanted breakfast. He was very loud.

Your cat is funny. What is his name again? His name is Buster. He is a big orange cat.

I remember Buster. He is a good cat. Sometimes he is good.

Sometimes he is not. What about you? Did you sleep well? Yes, I slept very well. I drank some tea and read a book before bed.

That sounds nice and quiet. My house is not quiet in the morning. Well, I hope you are not too tired for our talk.

Don't worry. I'm ready to talk. Okay, so today our topic is talking about your job.

Jack, what do you do? What is your job? I am a graphic designer. A graphic designer. That's interesting.

What does a graphic designer do? I make pictures on the computer. I make logos for companies. Logos? What is a logo? A logo is a picture for a company.

For example, a big company like Apple has an apple for a logo. Oh, I see. So, you draw the apple.

Well, not the apple logo. But yes, I draw pictures like that. I make websites look nice.

I make pictures for posters. That sounds like a fun job. Do you like it? I love it.

It is very creative. I can use many colors. I can draw all day.

But sometimes it is a little difficult. Why is it difficult? Well, sometimes the computer is slow. Sometimes a client says, I don't like this color, Jack.

Can you change it? Oh, I understand. So, you change the color? Yes, I change the color. Then the client says, I liked the first color more.

Oh, no. That is funny, but you are very patient, Jack. I try to be patient.

It is part of the job. So, what about you, Emma? What is your job? I am a teacher. A teacher? That is a wonderful job.

What do you teach? I teach English, but I teach English to children. Children? How old are the children? They are between 6 and 10 years old. They are very young.

Wow. That must be very interesting. Is it loud? Sometimes it is very, very loud.

But it is also very fun. The children have a lot of energy. I remember when I was a child, I had a lot of energy too.

Believe it. My students like to sing songs and play games. Do you sing songs with them? Yes, I do.

We sing a song about the days of the week. We sing a song about the weather. Can you sing a little for me? Oh, no.

I can't sing now. Maybe another time. Okay.

Maybe another time. So, do you like being a teacher? I love it. It is hard work, but it is very rewarding.

Rewarding? What does rewarding mean? It means it makes me feel happy and good. When a student learns a new word, I feel very happy. That is a great feeling.

For me, when a client likes my logo, I feel very good too. So, our jobs are both rewarding. Yes, they are.

Where do you work, Emma? Do you work in a big school? I work in a small language school. It is near my house. That is convenient.

Do you walk to work? Yes, I walk to work. It takes about ten minutes. That is perfect.

I work from home. You work from home? Every day? Yes, every day. My office is in my apartment.

Is that good? Do you like working from home? Most of the time, yes. It is very comfortable. I can wear my pajamas.

You work in your pajamas. Sometimes, yes, but it has some problems. What problems? Well, sometimes I feel a little lonely.

I do not see my co-workers. Do you have many co-workers? I have five co-workers, but I only see them on the computer. On the computer? Oh, you have video calls.

Yes, we have video calls every Monday. We talk about our work. That is nice.

What are your co-workers like? That is a long day. I finish at 3.30. 3.30? That is amazing. What do you do after work? I go to the supermarket.

I go for a walk in the park. Sometimes I meet my friends for coffee. That sounds lovely.

When I finish work, I am very tired. I just watch TV. What do you watch on TV? I watch comedy shows.

I like to laugh after a long day. I like comedy shows too. We should talk about TV shows next time.

That is a good idea. What is the best part of your job, Emma? The best part? The children. Definitely the children.

They are so happy and curious. And what is the most difficult part? The most difficult part is when the children are sad. Sometimes they cry.

I do not like that. Yes, that is difficult. For me, the best part of my job is making something new.

I create something from nothing. That must be a wonderful feeling. It is.

The most difficult part is when a project is very, very big. It takes a long time. Do you work on the weekend? No, I do not.
The weekend is for rest. On Saturday, I clean my apartment. On Sunday, I relax.
I sometimes work on the weekend. I prepare my lessons for the next week. So, you work on Sunday? Sometimes, for two or three hours.
But I do not mind. You are a very good teacher, Emma. Thank you, Jack.
You are a very good graphic designer. Thank you. Maybe you can help me make a new logo for our channel? Maybe I can.
I am not a good artist. Do not worry. I can teach you.
Tell me more about your projects. What are you working on now? Right now, I am making a logo for a new coffee shop. The coffee shop is called The Happy Bean.
The Happy Bean? I like that name. What does the logo look like? It is a coffee cup. The coffee cup is smiling.
It has a happy face. A smiling coffee cup! That is a cute idea. Thank you.
The client wants the color brown, but brown is a little boring. Can you use brown and another color? That is a good idea. Maybe brown and orange.
Orange is a happy color. Yes, orange is a happy color. Like the sun.
Exactly. I will try that. Thank you, Emma.
You are welcome. Maybe I can be your assistant. Maybe.
So, tell me about your classroom. What is in your classroom? My classroom has many colors. There is a big world map on the wall.
That is nice. Do the children like the map? Yes, they do. They like to point to different countries.
They ask, Teacher, what is this country? That is so nice. What else is in the classroom? There are many books. There are toys for the young children.
There is a big whiteboard. I write new words on the whiteboard. Do the children use the whiteboard? Yes.
Sometimes they come to the board and draw pictures. They love to draw. Maybe I can visit your class and teach them how to draw logos.
That would be wonderful. They would love that. So, what is a typical day for you from morning to afternoon? I arrive at school at 8.15. I prepare my books.
The children come at 8.30. First, we say hello and sing a good morning song. A good morning song? Every day? Every day. It is our routine.
Then, we learn new vocabulary. For example, last week we learned words for food. Apple, banana, bread, milk.
Important words? Very important. Then, we play a game with the new words. After that, it is time for a short break.
What do the children do during the break? They run and play. They eat a small snack. Then, we come back and read a short story.
Finally, we do a little writing and then say goodbye. That sounds like a busy day. It is busy, but it is fun.
The day goes very quickly. What about your typical day? Well, I start at 9 o'clock. First, I check my emails.
I drink my first coffee. Of course. Then, I look at my list of tasks.
I have many tasks for the day. What kind of tasks? I need to draw new ideas. I need to talk to clients on the phone.
I need to change old designs. Every day is a little different. That sounds interesting.
You are not bored. No, I am never bored. But sometimes, my eyes get tired from looking at the computer.
Oh, that is not good. What do you do then? I stand up and look out the window. I walk around the apartment.
Sometimes, I talk to Buster. What do you say to Buster? I say, Buster, do you like this color? He usually says, meow. I think that means yes.
I think it means he is hungry. You are probably right. Do you have meetings? Yes, we have a team meeting every Monday morning.
We talk about our projects for the week. Is that meeting long? Sometimes, it is long. Sometimes, it is short.
It depends. My coworker, Ben, talks a lot. Sometimes, the meeting is long.
But he is funny, so it is okay. But he is funny, so it is okay. Yes, it is okay.
We laugh a lot in our meetings. Our teachers' meetings are more serious. We talk about tests and students.
That sounds important, but maybe not so funny. No, not very funny. But, Mr. Davis, my boss, sometimes brings cookies.
Cookies! I like cookies. That is a good boss. Yes, he is a good boss.
What skills do you need for your job, Jack? Skills? Well, I need to be good at drawing. I need to know computer programs. I need to be creative.
And I need to listen to my clients. That is a good skill. Listening is important.
It is very important. What skills do you need for teaching? I need to be patient. Children ask the same question many times.
Oh, I understand. That requires a lot of patience. Yes, I also need to be organized.
I need to plan every lesson. And I need to be kind. The children need to feel safe and happy.
You are all of those things, Emma. Thank you, Jack. That is very kind.
Did you always want to be a graphic designer? No, not always. When I was a child, I wanted to be a pilot. A pilot? To fly airplanes? Yes, I wanted to see the world.
But then I started to love art and drawing. So I changed my dream. What about you? I always wanted to be a teacher.
I played school with my toys. My toys were my students. That is so cute.
Your toys learned a lot, I am sure. I think they did. If you weren't a graphic designer, what job would you like to try? That is a difficult question.
Maybe a chef. I like to cook. Really? I didn't know that.
Yes, it helps me relax. What about you? If you weren't a teacher? Maybe a tour guide. I like to meet new people and talk about my city.
You would be a great tour guide. You are very friendly. Thank you.
Maybe we can have a second job one day. Maybe a coffee shop for chefs and tour guides. With a logo made by you.
Of course. A smiling coffee cup. Perfect.
Well, Jack, I think we talked a lot about our jobs. We really did. I feel like I know your classroom now.
And I feel like I know your co-worker Ben and your cat Buster. They are both important parts of my job. That sounds like a plan.
You know, we used some good words about jobs today. Should we explain them for our learners? That is a great idea. Let's do a mini vocabulary review.
It's like a small English lesson inside our conversation. Exactly. We can talk about the words we used and explain them simply.
Perfect. What words should we explain first? Let's start with client. You said this word many times.
Yes, a client. A client is a person or company that pays you for your work or your service. So, for you, a company is your client.
They pay you to make a logo. Yes, exactly. For example, the Happy Bean coffee shop is my client.
And for a hairdresser, the person who gets a haircut is the client. That's right. A client is like a customer, but often for professional work.
Okay, next word. Rewarding. I said my job is rewarding.
Yes, what does rewarding mean again? I remember it was a good feeling. It is a very good feeling. If something is rewarding, it makes you feel happy and satisfied.
It makes you feel that your work is good and important. So, helping people is often rewarding. Yes, teaching is rewarding for me because I help children learn.
And for me, finishing a beautiful logo is rewarding. It feels great. It's a feeling inside your heart that you did something good.
I like that word. Okay, my turn. Let's explain coworker.
A coworker is a person who works with you. We have the same boss and we work in the same place or for the same company. That's right.
You and I are coworkers on this channel. And Ben and Sarah are your coworkers at your graphic design job. Yes, another word for coworker is colleague.
But coworker is more common, I think. I think so, too. It's a very useful word for an office.
Okay, your turn again. Okay, your turn again. Let's explain convenient.
I said my school is convenient because it's near my house. Yes, if something is convenient, it is easy and it saves you time or trouble. A short walk to work is convenient.
An online supermarket is convenient because you can shop from your home. A smartphone is convenient because you can do many things with one small device. It's the opposite of difficult or complicated.
Yes. Now, let's think of some new words from our talk. What about skills? We talked about skills for our jobs.
Oh, good one. Skills. A skill is something you can do well, something you learned.
For example, drawing is a skill. You are good at drawing. And speaking English is a skill.
Our viewers are practicing that skill right now. Exactly. Cooking is a skill.
Using a computer is a skill. So, everyone has many skills. They do.
Another word is routine. I said we have a routine in my class. Routine.
What is a routine? A routine is the usual normal way you do things. The order of activities that you do regularly. So, my morning routine is wake up, drink coffee, check my emails.
And my class routine is sing a song, learn new words, play a game. So, a routine is like a plan or a habit for your day or your week. Yes, it helps you know what will happen next.
Children like routines. I like routines too. They are comfortable.
Me too. Okay, one more word. How about project? Project.
I use that word all the time. A project is a specific piece of work. It has a beginning and an end.
So, making one logo is a project. Yes, I'm working on a new project for a coffee shop. Building a house is a big project.
Planning a holiday can be a fun project. That's true. So, a project is like a task, but often bigger and more complex.
Yes, I have many projects at one time. And I prepare my teaching projects, my lessons, every week. So, we both have projects.
We do.
It means you need to do something important. Yes, it's about trust and doing the right thing.
Okay, let's quickly repeat them all. We had client, rewarding, co-worker, convenient, skills, routine, project, and responsibility. That's eight words.
I think that was a very good review. I hope it was helpful for everyone. Remember, you don't need to learn all these words today.
No, just listen and try to remember one or two new words. That is a great start. Learning English is a project, and you are all doing a very good job.
We think that is very rewarding. It really is. Yes, I have many projects at one time.
And I prepare my teaching projects, my lessons, every week. So, we both have projects. We do.
It means you need to do something important. Yes, it's about trust and doing the right thing. Okay, let's quickly repeat them all.
We had client, rewarding, co-worker, convenient, skills, routine, project, and responsibility. That's eight words. I think that was a very good review.

That is a great start. Learning English is a project, and you are all doing a very good job. We think that is very rewarding.
It really is. Well, Jack, I think we talked a lot about our jobs today. We really did.
I feel like I know your classroom and your students now. And I feel like I know your co-worker, Ben, your boss, Sarah, and your cat, Buster, very well. They are all important parts of my work life, even Buster.

Yes, we always love to hear from you in the comments. It's great practice for your writing, too. Today's question is, what is your job? Or, what is your dream job? Yes, please tell us.

It's time to say goodbye now. Thank you so much for practicing with us today. You are all doing a wonderful job.
Learning a new language is not easy, but you are here and you are trying. That is fantastic. Please remember to be kind to yourself.
It's okay to make mistakes. Mistakes help us learn. Keep learning, keep practicing, and we will see you again next time.
Goodbye, everyone. Have a great day.
