Would you please answer the door for me?
Ａ：Adrian, where are you?
甲：艾祖里安，你在哪兒？
Ｂ：I'm in the bathroom, what's up?
乙：我在洗手間，什麼事？
Ａ：I'm on the phone. Would you please answer the door for me?
甲：我在講電話，可否幫我應門？
Ｂ：I wish I could, but I'm covered in suds right now.
乙：我也想幫你，但我現在滿身都是肥皂泡。
甲：艾祖里安，你在哪兒？
Ｂ：I'm in the bathroom, what's up?
乙：我在洗手間，什麼事？
Ａ：I'm on the phone. Would you please answer the door for me?
甲：我在講電話，可否幫我應門？
Ｂ：I wish I could, but I'm covered in suds right now.
乙：我也想幫你，但我現在滿身都是肥皂泡。
suds [sʌdz] n. 肥皂水；泡沫；啤酒
沐浴時滿身肥皂沬，可以說I'm covered in suds。留意suds一字必須用複數形式。沐浴時聽見門鈴聲甚至火警鐘聲，最是使人狼狽。也不知是不是有鑑於此，英文俚語in the suds就是「處於困難景況」的意思，例如：Unemployed and without any savings, he is in the suds.（他失了業，又沒有儲蓄，處境十分困難）。啤酒的泡沫，看起來像肥皂泡，所以俚語會以suds說啤酒。Can I have a glass of suds?即「給我一杯啤酒好嗎？」
